Being Yourself and Books

Hi,

I hope all is progressing well.

After meeting with a friend for dinner and separating at the train station: I begin humming a song. At first, I'm not able to put a name to the song, but then the lyrics begin to bubble slowly: "I don't want to be anything other..." All the while I'm thinking about all I'm actively progressing toward and the great unknowns along the way.

The words eventually come to mind: "I don't want to be anything other than what I've been trying to be lately..." Everyone has a place in the universe (really-- more than one place-- their choices and circumstances determine if they can get to all those places beyond their mental spheres--still). There are so many opportunities allowing one to grow and live happily and successfully for the entirety of their life so long as the individual is true to the necessities of their whole self.

If you want to hear Gavin DeGraw's song (and/or watch the video):

Also, I always make sure I am reading a book. I have come to the last choice book on my summer reading list: The Hundred Year House by Rebecca Makkai, and I realize I have been experiencing so many texts without sharing them! So, I will be posting snippets on snippets of stories I am currently reading and (to start off) have been reading most recently in a book review section of the site. You will be able to find these bits on Goodreads as well. I will post more information soon.

Onward and Upward,

Kevin Dufresne
